Alphonse Mucha is one of my favorite early designers, along with Toulouse Lautrec. In this illustration for JOB cigarettes, which Mucha creates during the Art Nouveau period, he contributes to the starting practice of using sexuality to sell products. In this illustration he uses the metaphor that by buying and smoking those cigarettes you will also become sexy and irresistible.
